The "Slane Community Forum" is an organisation made up from groups, clubs and associations from the village of Slane.

All walks of life are part of the forum, with resident's associations, sporting clubs, commercial organizations and civic groups with a specific focus all actively involved.

The goals of the forum are to promote and develop the community of Slane in a positive and proactive manner with active participation from all those with a direct stake in the village and surrounding area.

Abraham Lincoln said that "Democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people".

Similarly, the Slane Community Forum is organized so that the community of Slane is represented by the people of Slane, for the people of Slane.
